About this team:
This role is in the Retail Engineering and Delivery team in the lululemon technology organization. This team is responsible for engineering and deploying Retail solutions for our stores to enhance our educator and guest experience along with supporting all data integrations. This will be a critical role in building modern Data, Streaming and Integration roadmap including scalable, durable and fast real-time data availability across the enterprise.
A day in the life:
As an Application Engineer, you will design and implement application solutions independently including complex configurations, custom development using platform-specific languages (e.g., Salesforce Apex), and system integrations while applying application engineering best practices and optimization techniques. You will lead technical design discussions on configuration and customization approaches, conduct thorough configuration and code reviews ensuring quality standards, and mentor junior application engineers on platform capabilities, customization techniques, and troubleshooting approaches. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders on application requirements and feasibility, make implementation decisions for application solutions including configuration versus platform-specific code trade-offs, and contribute to application engineering standards that improve system quality and maintainability.

Successful delivery of application projects meeting business requirements and quality standards.
Technical implementation quality for complex configurations and customizations ensuring system reliability within established application architecture.
Configuration and code quality across assigned work including validation, testing, and documentation.
Mentorship of junior application engineers including review feedback with measurable skill improvement.
Alignment of application solutions with business process objectives and user satisfaction.
5+ years of techno-functional experience supporting enterprise retail POS systems, with strong expertise in Oracle Xstore across production and pre-production environments.
4+ years of experience in Oracle Xstore log analysis, comparison, regression validation, and behavior analysis during upgrades and releases.
2+ years of experience building and maintaining monitoring solutions using Splunk (Mandatory), Datadog (good to have) , or similar tools for POS applications, integrations, and store operations.
Minimum 5 years of strong SQL experience for backend analysis, troubleshooting, deep log analysis, reporting, and database cleanup.
Experience supporting production issues, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and collaborating with engineering and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
Good understanding of incident management processes, including triage, impact assessment, escalation, and post-incident documentation.
Experience with payment and tax-free integrations; exposure to identity and access integrations for access validation and audit support.
Nice to have experience with Xcenter, Xenvironment, Xservice, Xmobile/mPOS, and other retail system integrations.
